BACKGROUND
NICCOD is a Japanese NGO, established in 1979. It is solely dedicated to creating a poverty-free world where people are able to realize their potential to the fullest while sustaining harmony with the global environment. NICCOD has conducted emergency responses, development assistance, rural environment protection, and human resources development in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Japan. In Jordan it has implemented projects regarding organic agriculture, women empowerment, psychosocial care, and youth empowerment since 1993.
NOTE: This is a local opportunity specific to Jordan.
PROJECT SUMMARY
NICCOD conducts the project of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Project for Syrian Refugees and Jordanians in Zarqa. The project has four components in order to reduce stress from their experience under current difficult situation.
1. Distribution of NFI items and food
2. Psychosocial care for children and women
3. Informal Education for children
4. Counseling
NICCOD seeks Project Coordinator, assistant, and social worker who are able to coordinate for implimentation of effetive and creative programs with our team. If one has experienced social work will be benefit, but it is not a requirement. One who has passion and committment for humanitarian support is the most welcome.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Project Corrdinator
- Coordinate the program with effective and creative methods
- Communicate with beneficiaries and communities
- Assist managers and train assistants
- Organize assessment and archaives of assessment
2. Assistant
- Assist the program with coordinator
- Carry out assessment and manage database
- Assist managers and coordinators
3. Social Workers
- Coordinate and assist to operate psychosocial care and counseling program under supervision of NICCOD staff and medical experts
- Carry out psychosocial programs
- Carry out counseling program with medical experts
CONDITION
1. Contract will be short term based on the project and funding.
2. Salary defined by the NICCOD salary scale according to ability, experience and performance.
