DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

* The Cooperation Officer supports the Head of the Communication -Cooperation Department in the establishment, review and implementation of the Cooperation objectives and activities.
* S/he manages the capacity building and operational programs in support of the Jordan Red Cross (JRCS) and acts as the delegation's resource person on all programs with JRCS

1. Specific Duties:
With the Head of Department:
 Oversees the development and maintenance of the ICRC partnership with the JRCS.
 Contributes to the ICRC knowledge and understanding of the JRCS at branch, national and regional levels.
 Acts as focal point between the ICRC and the JRCS, the International Federation of the Red Cross Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and Participating National Societies (PNS).
 Contributes to the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement knowledge and understanding of the delegation and relevant ICRC actions thereof.
 In the absence of the Head of the Com-Coop Department, be the delegation's focal person for matters related to Cooperation.

Main Tasks:
 Maintains up to date knowledge and understanding of strategies and activities related to:
1. Institutional/ICRC HQ; the delegation, and cooperation (with JRCS and other Movement actors).
 Participate and contribute to delegation, regional/ICRC HQ meetings.
 Contributes to the Head of Com-Coop Dept to analyse the cooperation context, develop strategy and activities.
 Provides narrative reporting and regular Quarterly Cooperation Reports to the delegation and to ICRC HQ.
 Providse and maintains a mapping of the JRCS activities, organizational issues and perception and share with ICRC colleagues as relevant.
 Organizes meetings with the JRCS and ICRC colleagues as related to the budgeting process.
 Ensures a smooth relationship with the JRCS (capacity building and operational) and maintains good partnership therewith
 Coordinates any projects implemented with/by the JRCS, including Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) and follow-up on cooperation budget implementation.
 Attends/organizes/takes part in meetings, workshops and training sessions with JRCS pertaining to Cooperation; participate as a resource person for the delegation for training related to Cooperation and the Movement.
 Supports the JRCS in the preparation of, and follow-up on, the Statutory Movement meetings.
 Carries out field visits, in particular to the JRCS Branches
 Represents the ICRC with the JRCS and Movement interlocutors.

2. Delegation Activities:
 Reporting: Writes field trip reports, minutes of workshops and meetings, provides contributions to specific reports, including the Cooperation Quarterly Report.
 Administration - Finance: Knows, applies and complies with all the administrative and financial procedures linked to his/her work, including budget follow-up.
 Interpretation - Translation: Accurately Interprets from English to Arabic and vice-versa during meetings and field trips as needed.
 Analysis: Contributes to the analysis of the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment relevant to the ICRC and shares relevant information with colleagues.
Follows-up the implementation of the budget as related to Cooperation.
